Adding a Key to Your Safe
Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for creating a backup device key for your UnoLock vault, managing key properties, and deleting a key.
Access Key Management
- Navigate to the main menu in the UnoLock app.
- Select Configuration.
- Click to access key management settings.
View Current Key Properties
- Click on your current key to view its properties.
- Note: The key’s status will be displayed as Enabled and Admin. These properties cannot be changed unless managed by another key with admin privileges.
- Optionally, rename the key for clarity or organization.
Create a Backup Key
- Click to create a new key.
- Provide a name for the new key.
- Click Next.
- Choose whether the new key should share the same PIN as your current vault access or use a new PIN, based on your needs.
- Re-authenticate using your device’s usual method (e.g., fingerprint scan, facial recognition, or FIDO2 passkey).
Connect a Backup Device
- Review the prompt informing you about the key QR code generation.
- Click Next to continue.
- Review the temporary QR code displayed, valid for 10 minutes.
- Connect another device as a backup key by either:
- Scanning the QR code.
- Entering the URL displayed with the QR code.
- Once the new device is successfully connected as a key to your vault, click Done.
- Note: The new key will appear in your list of keys.
Delete a Key (Optional)
- Select the key you wish to delete from the list of keys.
- Uncheck the Enable checkbox.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
- Note: The key will be removed from your list of keys.
