Adding Keys to Spaces
Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for creating a new space and adding a key for others to access specific spaces in your UnoLock vault with designated permissions, available in the Sovereign and HighRisk tiers.
Create a New Space
- Navigate to the Notes section of your vault.
- At the bottom of the screen, use the right arrow to move to your last space.
- Click the plus icon to create a new space.
- In the text field, enter a name for the space (e.g., “My Elderly Mother”).
- Press Enter to save the new space.
Access Manage Keys
- Go to the main menu in the UnoLock app.
- Select Configuration.
- Click to access key management settings.
Add a New Key
- Click to create a new key.
- Enter a descriptive name for the new key.
- Click Next to continue.
- Choose whether the key should use your current PIN or a new PIN:
- For this example, select Yes to set a new PIN.
- Enter the new PIN for the key.
- Click Next.
Specify Key Permissions and Space Allocation
- Select Read/Write Privileges to allow the key to add or delete records and data.
- Choose the specific space created earlier (e.g., “My Elderly Mother”).
- Click OK to allocate the space to the key.
Generate and Use the Key QR Code
- Review the message advising that a key is about to be generated.
- Click Next.
- Reauthenticate using your device’s usual method (e.g., fingerprint scan, facial recognition, or FIDO2 passkey).
- Review the QR code displayed, valid for 10 minutes.
- Use the QR code to add a new device as a key to your vault.
- Note: The device will gain access only to the designated space with the selected permissions.
- Once the new device has successfully accessed the vault, click Done.
Verify Key Permissions and Space Allocation
- Click on the new key in the key management section to verify its permissions and space assignments.
- Optionally, go to the space management settings in the Configuration menu to verify the space allocation.
