Plausible Deniability Setup
Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the Plausible Deniability feature in the UnoLock app, available exclusively on the HighRisk tier, to permanently delete sensitive data when a safe word PIN is used.
Access Plausible Deniability Settings
- Navigate to the main menu in the UnoLock app.
- Select Configuration.
- Click to access the Plausible Deniability configuration.
Create a Safe Word PIN
- Enter your desired safe word PIN in the provided prompt.
- Note: This PIN will trigger the permanent deletion of sensitive data when used instead of your regular access PIN.
- Click Next.
Review Plausible Deniability Information
- Read the informational warning explaining how the Plausible Deniability feature works with UnoLock spaces carefully.
- Click Yes to continue.
Select Sensitive Spaces for Deletion
- Select the spaces containing sensitive data that you want to be permanently deleted if the safe word PIN is used.
- Note: Be thorough and ensure all sensitive spaces are marked. Unmarked spaces will remain intact and be displayed as decoy data to an attacker. Marked data will be irrecoverably deleted.
- Click OK to complete the configuration.
Verify and Finalize Setup
- Review the screen displaying the spaces marked as sensitive for deletion if Plausible Deniability is triggered.
- Verify that all selections are correct.
- Click Next to finalize the Plausible Deniability feature setup.
- Note: This feature is designed for high-risk individuals who prefer to have sensitive data deleted rather than compromised in a hostile situation.
