Setting Up LegacyLink
Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring the LegacyLink feature for your UnoLock vault, available for users on the Inheritance, Sovereign, or HighRisk tiers.
Access Lockout Guard Settings
- From the main menu, navigate to Configuration.
- Select Lockout Guard.
- Note: Ensure that Lockout Guard is enabled and your vault’s lifetime is set to at least 31 days before proceeding.
Begin LegacyLink Setup
- Click to start the LegacyLink setup process.
Set the Trigger Time
- Use the slider to set the delay after Lockout Guard has been triggered for the LegacyLink feature (e.g., set to one month).
- Click Next to continue.
Reauthenticate
- Reauthenticate using your device’s usual method (e.g., fingerprint scan, facial recognition, or FIDO2 passkey).
Store the LegacyLink Credential
- Review the screen displaying the following:
- A QR code
- An access ID
- A passphrase
- Note: This credential is dormant, does not require a PIN, and can be used by anyone if the LegacyLink feature is triggered.
- Save, print, or securely store the credential information in a safe location or provide it to a trusted person (e.g., a successor or heir) who will inherit your vault in an emergency.
- Click Done to finalize this step.
Confirm LegacyLink Setup
- Review the message confirming that the dormant credential has been created successfully.
- Click Next.
- Read the notice reminding you to keep the credential safe carefully.
- Click Next to complete the LegacyLink configuration process.
