Safe Expiry and Tier Changes

Sovereign and HighRisk have the same price and included allowances. There is no cheaper free or inheritance plan offered for new Safes. Choose the tier by its safeword behavior, not by a progression of feature prices.

Before changing a Safe

Review Choose a Safe Tier. The current UI supports moving Sovereign to HighRisk, but does not offer a direct HighRisk-to-Sovereign switch. Do not delete a Safe simply to reduce its base fee: both cost the same.

If you need to move data to a newly created Safe, first make and verify Space backups, download any cloud files you need separately, and preserve access to locally encrypted files and wallets. A Space backup does not contain the bodies of cloud-file attachments. Keep the source Safe until the destination data and access have been checked. Review any subscription separately through Manage Subscription.

If a Safe expires

Keep the Safe funded before its displayed expiry. Renew through the payment flow where available; support cannot replace a missing access key or recover deleted plaintext.

Expiry is not a lossless downgrade

A legacy expiry prompt may offer a downgrade. Accepting that path can delete cloud files, remove LockoutGuard and LegacyLink access, and remove additional registered access keys. It is not a way to preserve all paid features or all data without payment. Read the exact prompt before proceeding and keep independent backups.

The managed service uses a post-expiry retention window before scheduled deletion. The current paid-tier configuration is six months after Safe expiry, not six months after every failed payment attempt. Manual deletion or a destructive downgrade can remove data sooner. Payment after deletion cannot restore it.

If you choose to delete a Safe

Deletion is permanent. Verify external backups and access to the destination first. If the deletion flow issues a promotional code for remaining credit, save it and follow the payment flow to redeem it. Do not assume a cash refund or automatic transfer of data, access keys, recovery settings, or subscription.
